Spending time with my niece and nephew is one of my favorite things to do. I don’t get to see them all that often, but when we do- we make it memorable. We go to parks and explore new things. They both are still so young and just love an adventure.
I was inspired by our trip to the park on my last visit. My niece looked so determined as she climbed and was very serious for a 2-year-old. I decided to take a few photos of her to imagine her climbing something taller than a playground set. My nephew, who is four, also loved climbing on the fake rock wall. He stood on top looking down at his sister as if he accomplished a great feat. I knew I needed to create something special for them.
For the image of my niece, I applied a mask to the background in her photo and added a mountain range. I focused on finding a background image that matched the color palette of her shirt and chose a more whimsical mountain image. I also added clouds on the bottom of the image to layer above the original to create depth.
For the image of my nephew, I masked the background and added the natural mountain range. I chose a background image of mountain range that was more realistic but also matched the colors in the original photograph. I also filtered the colors to blend together.
